Trinlady Park Road

April 10, 2021

Trinity, Texas is located a few miles north of the Trinity River along State Highway 19. Much of the surrounding area is forest and pasture, so it makes an ideal launch point for many of our explorations.

Trinlady Park Road runs north from Trinity up to Trinlady Park, which is basically just a wooded area out in the middle of nowhere. The name, Trinlady, is a portmanteau of Trinity and Lovelady, which is a town located north of Trinity on SH 19.

Most of the route along Trinlady Park Road is forested. There are very few houses, and the road itself is easy to navigate with most 2-wheel drive vehicles. We drove it in April, when many of the trees and roadside bushes were still in bloom.

Our Trinlady Park Road adventure was the first that we decided to start documenting. It had been a while since we had gone exploring, except for the occasional trip to see wildflowers or visit the beach. Trinlady Park Road reminded us that there is a lot to see along the dirt roads of East Texas.
